The Palestine Chronicle and Hamas: Unraveling the Legal Battle (Part 2)
Is Hamas and the Palestine Chronicle Coordinating a Propaganda Campaign against Israel, the U.S. and the Jews?
The lawsuit against the Palestine Chronicle has exposed Hamas’s influence beyond Gaza. To the case, originally filed by Almog Meir Jan in July 2024, now also claims that Abdallah Aljamal, a Hamas member who held him and two others hostage in Gaza while working for the Palestine Chronicle, told them that the terror group was collaborating with allies on U.S. college campuses and in the media.
In Part 1, I went over the publicly available evidence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence that the Palestine Chronicle or its chief editor, Ramzy Baroud, were aware of Abdallah Aljamal's association with Hamas. Why did I decide to do it? Because the judge dismissed the case, although she allowed it to be amended. The dismissal was based on the grounds of “insufficient evidence” after she had blocked discovery in November of last year.
Yes, she first ruled in favor of the defendants, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit with potential ties to terrorism and possibly guilty of tax fraud (all covered in Part 1), by granting their motion to stay discovery and blocking the plaintiffs from accessing additional potential evidence not available in the public domain. A few months later, she dismissed the case for "lack of evidence." You seriously can't make this stuff up!
Even with only the publicly available evidence, it's clear that Ramzy Baroud not had to know his “journalists”, especially Aljamal, were Hamas members, but he himself has ties to Hamas, Iran, and other terrorist organizations. All I can say about Judge Tiffany M. Cartwright, a Biden appointed judge, is that her radical leftist views were evident in a previous ruling when she struck down the 30-day residency requirement for voter registration before the last November elections, a requirement embedded in the state constitution.
But maybe she is not only radical, but was following instructions? One of her loudest supporters, lobbying for her confirmation, was The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition of more than 230 left-wing national organizations lobbying congress, one of their main focus is “voting rights”. LCCHR is funded by several prominent left-wing foundations and organizations. Between 2000 and 2018, LCCHR has received over $30.4 million from: MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and from various other left-wing foundations and organizations.
Now back to the case, the amended, filed on Friday February 21st, alleges that Abdallah Aljamal told the hostages that “Hamas was going to ensure that the United States, as well as Jews and Israelis, are hated everywhere and that Hamas in Gaza was coordinating with its allies, including its allies in the media and on college campuses, to foment hatred against Israel and Jews.”
In Part 2, we will focus only on the claim that ‘Hamas and the Palestine Chronicle were coordinating with allies in the media in the U.S.’ and try to assess whether the claims are plausible. A future Part 3 will focus on the alleged collaboration with U.S. college campuses.
Ramzy Baroud Chief Editor of the Palestine Chronicle
We know Ramzy Baroud is the chief editor of the Palestine Chronicle. While I wouldn’t consider it ‘media,’ let’s say it is. This would mean that Abdallah Aljamal coordinating with him or his staff in the U.S. would be expected, and the claims are probably of a wider network of ‘allies in the media’ that Hamas is coordinating with. Ramzy Baroud or the Palestine Chronicle are alleged to be part of that coordination.
We have the obvious, Al Jazeera, although Hamas doesn’t need Ramzy or the Palestine Chronicle to coordinate with Al Jazeera since Hamas has a direct line to them and literally creates Hamas' propaganda. Despite this, Ramzy does have significant connections to Al Jazeera beyond writing articles for them. From January 2004 until July 2005, Ramzy Baroud was the deputy managing editor of Al Jazeera Online. In addition, he also served as a consultant for Al Jazeera in 2013 and 2017.
Something that most people are not aware is, Al Jazeera is more than just a TV channel with a website and social media accounts. Al Jazeera also has training centers, research institutes, and more. Ramzy also headed Al Jazeera English's Research and Studies department at the ‘Al Jazeera Center for Studies,’ a research institution. One of their key objectives is to 'spread knowledge and understanding to the greatest number of audiences, especially researchers, academics, and intellectuals.'
Just for you to understand the kind of “research” AJCS conducts, one of their latest seminars was literally on how to “achieve cultural influence and societal change through media.” For Qatar, spreading propaganda is not the end goal, Al Jazeera is simply a tool of a much larger objective, changing entire societies, their values and cultures.
Disclaimer: I don’t have access to the case files detailing the evidence supporting the new allegations in the amendment, nor do I have details on the type of coordination the lawyers are arguing. However, in my opinion, there is very clear evidence to support the claim that Ramzy and Hamas coordinate with the media worldwide, not just in the U.S. They literally advertise it!
I want to introduce you to the Palestine International Forum for Media and Communications (PMF) or Tawasol. You don’t need to look much further than the 'About Us' and 'Board of Trustees' pages to understand why I believe Tawasol is at the center of the alleged “coordination between Hamas and ‘allies’ in the media”. The rest are just very, very juicy details.
Lets start from the “About Us” page:
Vision: “To be the largest international media group serving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people through partnership efforts”
Mission: “Palestine International Forum for Media and Communications (Tawasol) is an independent media organization aiming to enhance coordination between the international media organizations to promote Palestinian narrative through various means. It also facilitates the exchange of content and encourages media outlets to interact with the Palestinian cause and its developments in an objective and professional manner”
Pretty clear goals and mission, coordinate with the largest number of international media outlets, of all types, to ‘promote the Palestinian narrative and cause’. Goals and mission matching the allegation of “Hamas coordinating with its allies in the media.”
Now, let's take a look at who is on the Board of Trustees.
I won’t go over each member, I will only focus on a few key individuals, including, of course, Ramzy Baroud. We know Ramzy Baroud himself has ties to Hamas and has a long and important association with Al Jazeera. We also know Ramzy grew up in Gaza and is an UNRWA “refugee” from Nuseirat refugee camp, and his father was a “freedom fighter,” but who are the other highlighted individuals?
Ahmed Al Sheikh, Secretary General of the Tawasol
Ahmed Al Sheikh, Secretary General of the Tawasol, is an extremely well-known figure within the media industry. He was instrumental in the rise of Al Jazeera as the powerful media house it is today.
Before diving into his professional history, let’s get to know Ahmed Al Sheikh personally. He was born in Nablus in 1949 and grew up in Jammein, a village southwest of Nablus, where his ancestors settled after emigrating from Morocco as pilgrims. He spent a large part of his life as an expatriate in the Arab world, ‘hoping to return one day.’ In summary, he is as a “Palestinian,” born in Jordan, whose family originates from Morocco. That is the story of “Palestine”!
Ahmed Al Sheikh started his career in Jordan and Kuwait in the 1970s and was a senior producer for BBC Arabic. He joined Al Jazeera at its inception in 1996 as a senior producer and journalist, he also anchored Al Jazeera’s first live talk show. In 2000, he launched aljazeera.net as Chief Editor. In 2004, he launched Al Jazeera’s English website, AlJazeera.com, and was its first Managing Editor. By 2004, he took over the leadership of Al Jazeera as Editor-in-Chief until late 2010, when he became an advisor to the Chairman of the Board.
Under his leadership, Al Jazeera quickly became one of the most influential and widely viewed news channels in the Arab world and internationally. His work at Al Jazeera helped establish its “reputation”, and he is recognized as being "instrumental in Al Jazeera’s success." It is fair to say that he is not only extremely skilled at creating and spreading propaganda but also extremely well connected to high places in the media industry all over the world.
Ahmed Al Sheikh, who served as the Chief Editor at Al Jazeera, played a significant role in shaping the development of Al Jazeera's syndication model. Al Jazeera's approach to content distribution, including syndication, was designed to broaden the network's reach across the world. Al Jazeera's syndication model, where content is shared with other news organizations globally, allowed it to expand its audience and influence globally. This strategy was crucial for Al Jazeera in establishing itself as a prominent global media organization.
The fact that Ahmed Al Sheikh is the Secretary General of the Palestine International Forum for Media and Communications (Tawasol) means two things: he is instrumental to Tawasol and its goals, and more importantly, Qatar is probably linked to the organization. There is no information available on who funds Tawasol and its events. The organization is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
In addition, as I mentioned, Al Jazeera is more than just a media house. Similarly, as how Ramzy was part of a “Research Institute,” literally looking for ways to change entire societies through the media, Ahmed Al Sheikh is part of the group of experts and trainers at Al Jazeera’s training center, the “Al Jazeera Media Institute.”
The institute trains media professionals in virtually every aspect of media, and many international media organizations pay large amounts of money to send their staff to Qatar and other places for training at AJMI or to enroll in its online courses. Since launching in 2004, the Institute has educated more than 75,000 people across the world. Let that sink in: in two decades, the Muslim Brotherhood has trained 75,000 media professionals around the world!
While many of the courses are not controversial, such as video editing and other technical skills, except of course the fact that media professionals from all over the world are being trained by the Muslim Brotherhood!. However, plenty of the courses could be considered, for lack of a better word, far from 'kosher,' to say the least.
One course, for example, focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in content production—something that any serious journalist will tell you is not standard in news production. No journalist is going to use AI tools to manipulate or create images for their reporting! The course comes with a nice disclaimer: “Participants will also learn about some of the potential ethical risks and challenges of using AI and the need to use it responsibly.”
Anyone with half a brain cell can tell you, there is no responsible way to create AI-generated scenes of warzones with dead babies, and it certainly crosses every ethical line of journalism! Cost of learning how to produce fake stuff? Only $1150USD.
A perfect example of a course highlighting the hidden agendas of manipulation through AJMI is a training coordinated with a "human rights NGO." The target audience was not newbies or freelancers; it also had a very specific demographic. The course was aimed at journalists in the Arab world and required participants to be under 35 years old, have a full-time job at a media organization as a journalist, and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in journalism to enroll.
The course focused on how to “report” international law in war and conflict zones, human rights law, the refugee issue, international crimes, and courts, among other topics. It was held only two weeks after the October 7th Hamas attack and “trained 17 journalists.”
Now, you can even learn Arabic with the Muslim Brotherhood! “AJMI launched seven courses in January, with 57 students taking part. The 10-week courses develop participants' conversational Arabic skills, covering topics appropriate to their level. Beginners discuss personal interests and identities, while advanced learners explore political, social, and cultural issues
The Al Jazeera Media Institute and the Al Jazeera Studies Center are just a few ways Qatar is not only influencing worldwide media, but also shaping global perceptions to change societies. All of this and more, is part of Media City Qatar, the hub through which Qatar is infiltrating Western media from within its own soil.
Yasser Abu Hin, Chief Editor of Safa News Agency and Board Member of the Tawasol
All you need to know about Yasser Abu Hin to understand why he is important is, he founded and is the chief editor of Gaza-based Safa News Agency, a literal Hamas news agency. Do I need to say more? In case that is not enough, before launching Safa News Agency, he was the director of another Hamas-affiliated “media” called PalMedia. With this alone, it is safe to say he is most likely a member of Hamas or at the very least closely coordinates with Hamas. But of course there is always more, Safa News Agency’s focus and scope; “The scope of our agency's work revolves around exposing the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people as a national and media priority.” Safa News was also banned from Facebook in 2018 for having links to Hamas.
After the October 7th massacre, Yasser Abu Hin celebrated the attack on Facebook, proudly sharing and interview with Al Jazeera the post says: “First interview from Gaza commenting on the Al-Aqsa flood.” The image says: “How does operation Al-Aqsa flood continue?”
In addition to running a Hamas News Agency, Yasser Abu Hin is the brother of three Al-Qassam brigades leaders, including a commander in the Al-Qassam brigades, Mahmoud Abu Hin. Mahmoud Abu Hin was killed along his two of his brothers, Youssef and Ayman Abu Hin, in May 2003. They were killed in a 16-hour intense fight with the IDF.
Mahmoud Abu Hin was also part of the more than 400 leaders and members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad who were deported to the Marj al-Zuhur camp in southern Lebanon in 1992. Among those deported alongside Mahmoud were Senior Hamas member, Ismail Haniyeh and Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi, a senior founding member of Hamas. Al-Rantisi was also a doctor who’s death was honored with a hospital for children in Gaza named after him. It is safe to say that Yassir Abu Hin is no small player in the Hamas sphere. He not only runs the largest Hamas-affiliated media agency in Gaza, his own brothers were prominent terrorist with very big deadly toys.
Mahmoud Abu Hin left behind a daughter after he was killed. Very romantic story, he named her Marj al-Zuhur, in honor of the name of refugee camp in Lebanon where he was exiled to and where she was born. Yassir Abu Hin, chief editor of Safa News, appears to have had a significant influence on his niece. Marj al-Zuhur followed her uncle’s footsteps and became a journalist in Gaza, where she worked for the media unit of the Hamas Supreme Judicial Council.
Sadly, Marj al-Zuhur passed away during childbirth, but she was not just any Hamas journalist—she was a very prominent one. The Head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Salama Maarouf, mourned her death and published an obituary.
The Palestinian Info Center, also a well known Hamas publication, published a very lengthy obituary which among many, it included comments from the Palestinian Journalist Bloc. They had very nice words to say about her, and from their own words, her entire family is known to be Hamas members, including herself as part of the Hamas women’s movement and “activist”.
Our colleague Marj al-Zuhur is a family of resistance fighters who have offered martyrs and continue to do so. Our deceased made great contributions in the media and institutional field. On the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Journalist Bloc….. She also represented the Hamas women’s movement and was one of its activists, in addition to her work within the media unit of the Supreme Judicial Council in Gaza, not to mention her activities at the community and national levels, which witnessed her active participation in all events. She carried a national concern and a revolutionary spirit since her early childhood when she woke up in this world to the face of her martyred father covered in his blood.”
There are More Ties to Hamas From Board Members
Other members of the Board of Trustees of the Tawasol, also has close ties to Hamas, but since the claim is that Hamas in Gaza is coordinating with 'allies' in the media, I focused only on Yasser, as he is based in Gaza and appears to be an actual Hamas member.
You can read about some of the other board members in a Jewish Onliner’s post in X. Short summary: Ahmado Wediaa, another member of the board and a researcher for the Al Jazeera’s Research Center, ‘Al Jazeera Center for Studies.’ The same research center looking for ways to change societies through the media. Wediaa also has strong connections to Hamas in Mauritania. Wediaa “has been photographed meeting with former senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan, Hamas spokesman, Sami Abu Zuhri, and Hamas' Mauritanian representative. These meetings included discussing how to mobilize Mauritanians to support Hamas' “resistance” efforts.”
You also have Bilal Khalil, another member of the board and the Executive Director of Tawasol. He for example spoke at a conference featuring Senior Hamas official, Osama Hamdan. Khalil has also appeared on Al-Hiwar TV, a London-based media outlet known for platforming Hamas members.
What are the chances that Ramzy Baroud from the Palestine Chronicle is unaware of Yasser Abu Hin’s and other members of the Board of Trustees in Tawasol have close ties to Hamas? Will Judge Tiffany M. Cartwright also claim that there is 'insufficient evidence to prove the defendants were aware that Yasser Abu Hin and other Board of Trustees in Tawasol are also possible member Hamas'?
How large is Tawasol’s network?
The last published numbers are from 2018, they claim its network was composed of 1,000 journalists from 70 different countries. Not a small network. They also claim to be partnered with 325 institutions, ranging from News Agencies, Television, Radio, NGOs, Think Tanks, Universities and more. Quite the diverse reach!
Since Tawasol published the size and reach of their network for the years 2014 and 2016, we can estimate that, based on the same growth during the first 4 years, the network today might consist of approximately 2,000 journalists, in 140 countries, and 750 institutions. Is very possible their network expands to most of the world, with thousands of journalist across the globe.
What are Tawasol’s Objectives?
Tawasol’s objectives are well-documented, and they don't even try to hide what they are doing. This is not just a network of journalists coming together to learn about a subject they report on. The network, as advertised, literally recruits journalists from all over the world. Tawasol not only coordinates with these recruits, but it also literally tells them what to do and how to do it. They are recruited, in their own words, to be “at the service of the Palestinian cause!.”
Developing a network of journalists “serving the Palestinian cause”
“Coordinate media efforts for the sake of of the cause of Palestine”
Help “improve and guide media performance regarding Palestine”
Launch initiatives to produce content that “benefits the cause of Palestine”
Provide a planform of communication and cooperation between forum attendees and media “in a manner that serves the cause of Palestine”
Promote productions “specializing in Palestine” and “give a chance to present and market” productions focused on Palestine
When have you heard of journalists joining forces to be at the “service” of' any cause? Journalists are not meant to “serve causes,” they are meant to present facts! The Tawasol network members are not journalists! They are thousands of implants, scattered all over the world, in hundreds of institutions and media organizations, in the service of Hamas’ propaganda.
Tawasol’s Content Syndication Objectives and its Dangers
Since one of their stated objectives is to “market” productions focused on Palestine, it suggests a syndication model for their “media professionals.” The syndication of content is a significant part of how Al Jazeera spreads its propaganda worldwide, often without the audience realizing that the content was created by Al Jazeera.
If you want to understand how dangerous the syndication of content is when the source is not vetted, look no further than the most recent scandal surrounding the BBC documentary “Gaza: How to survive a warzone.” Hours after the documentary aired, British investigative journalist David Collier uncovered that the star of the show was the son of a senior Hamas official in Gaza and both cameramen were Hamas terrorists. Shortly after, GAZAWOOD, an X account dedicated to exposing fake videos from Gaza and expose the industry referred as “Pallywood”, revealed that a second child was also connected to Hamas. To top it off, Jonathan Sacerdoti, British Writer, broadcaster and commentator, showed that scenes in the documentary were completely staged, total “Pallywood”. All this was followed, by again, David Collier revealing a third child was also connected to Hamas.
It is reported that the BBC paid over £400,000 or over $500,000 in licensing fees to the “production company,” which was essentially Hamas, to broadcast the documentary. In simple terms, the BBC paid Hamas to broadcast Hamas’ own propaganda to the masses! We don’t know how the BBC was matched with Hamas’ “production company,” but considering the new allegations in the case of coordination between Hamas and “allies” in the media, that members of the BBC are part of Tawasol’s network, the significant ties it has to Hamas, and how its objectives include syndicated content, this matter deserves to be investigated.
How Does Tawasol Coordinate or, More Precisely, Direct Its Network of Journalists in the Service of Hamas?
They attend and organize all sorts of events, from international forums and workshops to media campaigns, as well as publishing “research” and “educational material.” All of this is centered on elevating the “Palestinian Cause” in the media and increasing the number of recruits into their network while providing “trainings” and more.
One of their most important events for them is the Tawasol Conference. The Tawasol Conference is a key event organized to unite media professionals around the Palestinian cause, focusing on developing effective media strategies and projects. It aims to mobilize global support through media specializations, bringing together journalists and activists to amplify the cause in the international media landscape.
So far, they have organized four of such conferences. The first Tawasol Conference was held in 2014, the title was “Communicate for Palestine,” it gathered 450 journalists, from 30 countries and 86 institutions, The focus was on "mobilizing the latent energies of the free people of the nation and the world in all media specializations, and in an effort to build effective media strategies and projects in the service of the Palestinian cause."
The conferences feature a series of panels, seminars, and training courses. In 2014, Tawasol marked the launch of several initiatives aimed at pushing the “Palestinian narrative in global media”, they created their first handbook on how to cover the Palestinian Issue, first of a series of the "Handbooks for Journalists and Media Institutions on covering the Palestinian Issue." The handbooks are available in multiple languages and cover a wide range of subjects.
By 2018, five series of guidebooks were published with more in the works: General Media Policies, Media Policies on Jerusalem, Media Policies on West Bank Settlement, Media Policies on Prisoners and Media Policies on Normalization. A group of academics, specialists and media consultants participated in creating this series. It would be interesting to know who is providing material support to terrorists by creating this handbooks.
To give you an idea of what is inside the handbooks, taken from their “General Media Policies of the Palestinian Cause” handbook, the “policies” include always referring to Israel as an “illegal occupier” and an “apartheid or racist” state, describing terror attacks as “acts of resistance,” and so much more. This is just from the first two pages.
Another interesting aspect of the handbook, which might go unnoticed by most, is how they instruct journalists and media organizations to always leave a “semi-permanent” space at all levels to cover new developments on the Palestinian cause. When Tawasol says, “bring the Palestinian cause front and center,” they really mean it. It is clear that everyone in their network and following their guidelines is serving Hamas and spreading propaganda.
The second Tawasol conference was in 2016, the title was “Palestine in Media Opportunities and Challenges.” That year it gathered 650 journalists, from 50 countries and 205 institutions. The focus that year was on starting to “build a community”, more specifically start their recruitment process. “It was an opportunity to communicate, exchange experiences and expertise, and work to build an international media community that supports the Palestinian cause.” The event was covered by the Hamas affiliated Palestinian Information Center, which at least shows, it is a “Hamas approved” event.
The third Tawasol conference was in 2018, the title was “Palestine, Addressing the World.” That year it gathered 1,000 journalists, from 70 countries and 325 institutions. The focus that year was on “Palestine in Global Media.” Part of the workshops and seminars was focused on how to “build media lobbying groups,” “strategies to confront ‘racist Israeli’ discourse” and much more.
Ramzi Baroud was one of the speaker during that conference, among the things he spoke about was how 'Zionism is a narrative based on fabricated ideas.' But the only ones fabricating ideas is them. During the conference he also spoke about how supporting the “resistance” meant having to prove that you are not a terrorists, reason why “the Palestinian victim” was created to “spread another image of the cause in the media.” The Palestine Chronicle lived blogged the event.
In 2017, Tawasol organized the “Digital Media Forum on Palestine,” gathering 250 “digital activists” from 23 countries. Unlike their previous focus on journalists, the forum targeted social media activists and digital platforms to “promote” the Palestinian cause. The event provided participants with tools and online strategies to amplify their message and “Service the Palestinian Cause”.
We can safely say that Tawasol has created a worldwide network of media professionals and institutions, all willing to "serve the Palestinian cause" for years. Their success can be measured in the number and diversity of people who are part of it. Their stated goals include “coordinating” with them. The question remains: Are they actually coordinating a campaign to demonize Israel, specially since October 7th, 2023, as alleged in the case?
On February 7th, 2024, Tawasol coordinated a simultaneous broadcast around the Arab world, it included 25 satellite channels. This proves that yes, Taiwasol coordinates with the media, at least in this case, with Arab media.
The simulcasts was meant to:
“to remind people of the continued aggression of the occupation on Gaza, and to urge the Arab public to continue supporting solidarity and pressure to stop the aggression and provide relief to Gaza and its people.”
Part of the program as described first focused on “showing a “video graph of aggression statistics” that included the martyrs, wounded, destruction, and displacement.” How much of the footage do you think was part of “Pallywood” production?
The simulcast program also discussed “the legal movement regarding the necessity of prosecuting Israeli war criminals and occupation leaders in the International Criminal Court.” It is important to note that the request for a warrant to the ICC did not happen until nearly four months later, in late May 2024. We also know, by the own admission of DAWN’s Executive Director, Sarah Leah Whitson, the ICC warrants against Israeli leaders “didn’t happen in a vacuum,” they were the product of hundreds of people, including activists and NGOs, and the efforts go back “many, many years.” Oh, and she wasn’t shy to admit it was nothing more than a witch hunt.
Now, I pose the following question: What are the chances that some of those “hundreds of activists, NGOs, etc.” behind the ICC arrest warrants were coordinating with Tawasol? Consider the fact that, by Tawasol’s own admission, in 2018, they had 14 NGOs in their network, 1,000 journalists, which also included activists, and that number today could be twice as much.
Is DAWN part of their network? Both DAWN and Tawasol also have significant ties to Hamas. More importantly, in March 2024, both Ramzy and Sarah were interviewed as part of the same Al Jazeera show, the subject was the media reactions to a UN resolution for a ceasefire, coincidence?. For more on DAWN’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, you can read Eitan’s Fischberger’s post on X. NGO Monitor has also documented DAWNs finances and ties to terrorism for years, including DAWNs lawfare campaign against Israel.
In December, 2024, Tawasol in partnership with Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA), another Hamas linked organization, launched a competition "Gaza 2024-2025 Media Creativity Award,” offering cash prizes for videos promoting boycotting Israel. They will be awarding $18,000 in cash prizes, ranging from $1,000 all the way to $10,000 for the 1st place. Essentially, Hamas is paying people peanuts to create content that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars if produced by a professional production company, in exchange for the chance to 'serve the Palestinian cause.'
As reported by Jewish Onliner, “PCPA was founded by Hamas operatives in Istanbul and was designated by Israel in 2022 as a Hamas proxy. One of its leaders, Majed Al-Zeer, has been recognized as a prominent Hamas operative in Europe by the U.S., Israel, and Germany. His activities are highlighted in ElNet's Hamas in Europe report.”
In this case, Hamas is indeed coordinating with its “allies” in the media to create and spread propaganda against Israel, through an organization linked to Ramzy Baroud.

Last month, Tawasol hosted its fourth conference, the title was “The Palestinian Narrative, A New Era,” with the participation of more than 600 elite media professionals, journalists, and thinkers from about 60 countries around the world. In their own words, it “represented a great opportunity to enhance cooperation, join hands, and unify visions between media institutions in a way that serves the Palestinian cause… discussed…. strategic directions towards an effective global narrative to support Palestine…. developing the Palestinian narrative, and other important axes in the media field that serve Palestine and its cause.”
By their own admission, the conference aimed to enhance "cooperation" with a "unified vision" between "media institutions" to "serve the Palestinian cause" and develop a "unified global narrative" to "support Palestine."
One notable aspect of this year’s conference is the focus on “the Palestinian narrative in the international media,” with topics independently explored in different regions: the Palestinian narrative in Asian, African, European, American, and Latin American media.
Remember the Al Jazeera Research Institute and how they were looking for ways to change societies through the media? Of course, to achieve that, you have to know your audience. What are the chances we are seeing that research put into action through an organization headed by the person instrumental in the rise of Al Jazeera as the powerful media house it is today.?
The conference hosted a wide range of speakers with ties to Hamas and the Muslim brotherhood, including Wadah Khanfar, an alleged Senior Hamas Member, Munir Shafiq, a former “Jihad Brigades” leader, Wael Aldahdouh, whose family clan is deeply tied to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, among others. Members of the board of Tawasol, Yasser Abu Hin and Ahmado Wediaa, who are also linked to Hamas, participated too. You can read more about some of the speakers ties to Hamas from Jewish Onliner’s report.
In addition to speakers linked to terrorism, the Palestine Chronicle’s Managing Editor, Romana Rubeo, was a speaker at the event. As well as Ramzy’s daughter, Zarefah Baroud. Zarefah is a digital media associate for American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). AMP, largely behind the pro-Hamas mobs in universities, is currently under investigation for ties to Hamas, she is also part of the investigation. Just further evidence of the coordination between the Palestine Chronicle, Ramzy Baroud, the media and Hamas. Part 3 will feature Zarefah and AMP, stay tuned.
The most troubling part of these conferences and the Palestine International Forum for Media and Communications (PMF), or Tawasol, is not just the overwhelming evidence of ties to Hamas and the involvement of Ramzy Baroud and the Palestine Chronicle in it, it is not the level of propaganda they are spreading, nor even the amount of coordination they have with their network of journalists, activists, and institutions. The most important aspect of the entire operation is identifying the network of people in the media who are actively working and coordinating to "service the Palestinian cause."
The conference’s speakers list also included Western journalists and anti-Israel “activists” such as Safa Faisal, a senior news editor at BBC World Service, American filmmaker Abby Martin, Breno Altman, a Brazilian journalist from Opera Mundi, and Robert Martin, from Australia. These individuals, and many more are just a few examples of the Western media “allies” that a Hamas linked organization is actively coordinating with. An organization where Ramzy Baroud and the Palestine Chronicle are a prominent component.
As I mentioned earlier, I don’t know what is the evidence from the case, but all I can say is, Ramzy, Hamas and “allies in the media” are openly coordinating a hate campaign against Israel, the U.S. and the Jews. Not only they don’t hide it, they advertise it!
